Five operational areas

Marine operating berth

Dana 97 is the GPO terminal’s operating berth, where seagoing vessels berth to unload liquid products and where inland waterway units can also be loaded.

  • Flexible hoses DN250–DN300 for fertilizers and biodiesel
  • Remote electric actuated valves
  • Telescopic hose handling system

Truck tanker loading/unloading rack

Located on the eastern side of the terminal, the truck rack can handle two tank trucks simultaneously.

  • 2 loading/unloading bays
  • 2 metrologically certified weighbridges (loaded/empty)
  • Loading arms or flexible hoses DN80
  • Bitumen is top-loaded; all other products are bottom-loaded
  • Automatic shut-off system when maximum weight is reached
  • Mass flow metering and progressive on-off valves
  • Loading rates: 80–100 mc/h

Rail wagon loading/unloading rack

90 m internal rail track, capable of handling 6 wagons simultaneously.

  • Total length: 90 m
  • Staging capacity: 6 wagons
  • Loading arms for bitumen, DN80 hoses for the rest
  • Control via mass flow metering, progressive on-off valves
  • Fixed weighing at the terminal entrance
  • Firefighting system with hydrants along the entire length (aeromechanical foam)
  • Loading rates: up to 250 mc/h

Pump station

Located in its own containment bund, it includes 10 canned pumps dedicated to each product.

  • 10 canned pumps, dedicated per product
  • Temperature, axial/radial displacement, vibration sensors
  • Liquid presence sensors
  • Monitoring of process flow pressures and temperatures
  • Start/stop locally or from the control room
  • Remote electric actuated valves on suction and discharge
  • Flow rates: 80–250 mc/h depending on installation and product

Segregated pipelines, zero losses

Dedicated pipelines for each product, fully segregated, with short routes between all facilities.

  • Total segregation — no cross-contamination between products
  • Bitumen pipelines: thermal oil circuits for temperature maintenance
  • Bitumen and fertilizer pipelines: thermal insulation + temperature/pressure sensors
  • Biodiesel pipelines: safety valves against overpressure (thermal expansion)
  • Short routes → virtually zero technological losses
